Overview:
As the Director of Rehabilitation (DOR), you will oversee our rehab department, ensuring top-notch patient care that meets functional outcomes, aligns with fiscal policies, and complies with federal and state regulations. Your role will be pivotal in optimizing patient care, enhancing employee relations, and managing resources effectively to achieve financial objectives. We're seeking a professional who fosters positive interactions with patients, families, staff, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Efficiently manage patient scheduling and delegate responsibilities to staff, ensuring optimal service delivery.
Supervise, train, educate and evaluate the rehabilitation team to uphold performance standards and deliver quality patient care.
Participate in the hiring process, maintaining a skilled, clinically competent and dedicated team.
Implement compliance and risk management policies; ensure point-of-service documentation and accurate billing.
Communicate departmental goals, achievements, and challenges effectively with administration and interdisciplinary team( IDT)
Manage department finances, including budget adherence and revenue optimization.
Ensure accurate and timely MDS reporting, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
Uphold infection control standards and facility safety protocols.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Must hold a current PT/PTA, OT/COTA, or SLP license with a strong preference for experience in long-term care/skilled nursing facilities (LTPAC/SNF).
New graduates with SNF exposure or licensed assistants with prior management experience will also be considered.
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems, with a willingness to learn new software and clinical programs.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of PDPM, Quality Measures, and Quality Reporting Program.
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Experience in program development and quality assurance.
Strong financial and operational management skills.
Effective communication and relationship-building capabilities.
A commitment to continuous improvement and patient care innovation.
