Your role at Clorox:

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and participating in daily maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment improvements. This role ensures compliance with company policies and standards related to GMP, production, safety, and quality. The Maintenance Coordinator also manages the effective use of shop equipment and tools, prioritizing safety and proper handling of all materials and equipment. Additionally, the role supports long-term development initiatives and adherence to GME guidelines

In this role, you will:

Empowerment

  • Assist the Plant Maintenance Leader in developing and implementing training and development plans, ensuring all personnel meet training requirements and support skill progression.

  • Lead training sessions on maintenance and repair of production and facilities equipment.

  • Conduct annual reviews of training documentation.

  • Review department staffing based on production schedules; escalate concerns to the Plant Maintenance Leader.

  • Lead department communication meetings and disseminate plant announcements and changes.

  • Execute maintenance priorities and plans, track performance against goals, and report progress to the Plant Maintenance Leader.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to address maintenance, quality, and processing issues.

Safety

  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all safety regulations, addressing any safety concerns immediately.

  • Conduct daily risk assessments and safety audits within the facilities.

  • Ensure proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and clip-out.

  • Ensure OSHA compliance for assigned machinery and equipment.

  • Ensure all areas adhere to safety and cGMP standards.

  • Escalate safety concerns/incidents promptly through proper channels.

Availability

  • Foster a positive teamwork environment and maintain excellent working relationships.

  • Establish, maintain, and reinforce positive relationships between maintenance and other departments.

  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.

  • Appropriately staff personnel for service calls, work orders, and preventative maintenance (PM) based on production demands.

  • Implement World Class Operations efforts, including 6S, Autonomous Maintenance (AM), line cubes, and updating the CAM board.

  • Drive department improvement initiatives aligned with plant and Clorox strategy.

  • Coordinate and deliver training to process operators, packaging operators, and mechanics as needed.

  • Develop One Point Lessons and Job Aids to instruct Line Operators on equipment operation, setup, and maintenance.

  • Lead maintenance improvement projects, including scope definition, resource planning, scheduling, implementation, and vendor coordination.

  • Support the development of centerlines and Clean, Inspect, Lubricate (CIL) procedures.

  • Create and review PMs and work orders, supporting SAP transactions such as notifications, planning, and parts management.

  • Monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment to maintain and improve production asset functionality.

  • Perform Preventative, Corrective, Predictive, and Breakdown Maintenance on production and facilities equipment.

  • Conduct root cause analysis of equipment breakdowns and implement actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Lead the spare parts ordering, removal, and organization process. Audit the event tracking system in LEDs to ensure adherence. Track and analyze losses for lines as needed.

  • Support production, maintenance, and engineering in the installation, adjustment, fabrication, or modification of machinery.

  • Perform daily clean-up and organization of common maintenance areas, including tools and supplies.

  • Complete assigned projects.

  • Participate in, lead, and develop initiatives related to energy conservation, Continuous Improvement, work orders, and SAP. Participate in daily and weekly loss meetings.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, escalating to the Plant Maintenance Leader as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as requested by Plant Maintenance Leader or Plant Leadership.

What we look for:

  • High school diploma required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a production/operations facility.

  • Certification from a recognized technical institute or military experience preferred.

  • Strong demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven abilities in resourcefulness, good judgment, initiative, and a strong work ethic.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work efficiently under minimal supervision, and perform well under pressure.

  • Clear expression of ideas, both verbally and in writing, and ability to follow verbal and written instructions, manuals, wiring diagrams, work orders, and specifications.

  • Proficiency in MS Office.

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of PLC logic and electrical troubleshooting.

  • Basic knowledge of metal fabrication (machine shop work).

  • Knowledge of basic plumbing and water line repair.

  • Proficiency in the use, maintenance, and care of tools, equipment, and machinery.

  • Ability to understand and diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.

  • Ability to understand and diagnose electrical problems.

  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

  • Ability to interpret data, identify problems, and make sound decisions.

  • Ability to generate and analyze reports, charts, and KPIs.

Starting Base Pay: $42.63 / hour
