Senior Manager Product Engineering

Job Description

Renesas is seeking a Product Engineering Manager to lead new product development and manage production sustaining efforts for our Battery Management Systems (BMS) business unit at the Research Triangle Park, NC development center. This role offers a unique and exciting opportunity to collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop innovative BMS solutions for computing and industrial applications. Products developed/supported include battery management IC’s (BMIC), fuel gauge IC’s (FGIC), buck-boost battery chargers, USB PD controllers, and bi-directional buck-boost voltage regulators.

  • Lead a high-performing team of Product engineers in new product development and sustaining activities

  • Lead product engineering teams capable of thriving in fast-paced, geographically diverse environments

  • Lead the Product Engineering team responsible for product validation, qualification, production ramp-up, yield optimization, and customer engagement on quality initiatives

  • Identify and manage production cost reductions

  • Create and implement standardized processes and procedures for new product characterization, qualification, and production sustaining activities

  • Training and mentoring the Product Engineering team

  • Instilling the team with an engineering mindset that encourages curiosity, problem solving and finding innovative ways to achieve objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry with a focus on new product development.

  • Experience with integrated circuit new product development procedures/flow.

  • Experience with statistical analysis, problem solving methodologies, and making data-driven decisions.

  • Understanding of analog power management products and their unique requirements.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and people skills, with a proven ability to motivate teams and drive organizational success.

  • Knowledgeable of the production / operations environment.

  • Ability to manage supplier excursions and customer escalations.
