Pike Corporation Assistant Claims Specialist in Mount Airy, North Carolina

Position Overview: The primary purpose of the Assistant Claims Specialist is to support the Claims dept. and work closely with the Claims Specialists in handling claims filed against the company associated with damage claims and losses. The Assistant will play an integral role in supporting the department in successfully ensuring operational excellence across assigned work responsibilities.

Essential Functions

  • Handles routine claim & incident status inquiries from partners in a courteous and timely manner.

  • May be the initial point of contact to receive and document new claims from internal and external customers.

  • Supports organization and specialists with maintenance of internal database and claims processing.

  • Handles multiple functions related to business operations, claims processing, and office workflows.

  • Open and process department mail and data entry

  • Draft and generate regular reports, presentations and correspondence for various events and purposes.

  • Data entry of payments, reimbursements and correspondence in systems and database for concise yet accurate file documentation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

  • Ability to learn and efficiently use database systems

  • Previous work in a customer service role

  • High school diploma or GED
