In this role, you’ll:
Work closely with the Planner team, which takes Perception and Prediction signals to make the final driving decision of the vehicle.
Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers and program managers in delivering highly strategic programs or resolving high-impact issues.
Own and drive program execution for the Planner team by managing risks, timelines, dependencies, and progress to meet our monthly, quarterly and yearly performance goals.
Leverage technical knowledge to identify gaps or risks in team roadmaps and contribute to the overall technical strategy of the team.
Build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders from across Waymo, including Perception, Prediction, Safety, SysEng, Sim, and Research.
Represent programs to senior leadership - facilitating discussions on program strategy and providing visibility into progress.
At a minimum we’d like you to have:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Robotics, similar technical field or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience in Technical Program Management.
Ability to easily ramp up on technical concepts and navigate ambiguity.
Exceptional communication skills.
It’s preferred if you have:
2-4+ years software engineering experience
Robotics / autonomous vehicle technology experience
Python, SQL, data modeling and visualization
Statistics, probability, and prediction
