Microsoft Corporation Finance Manager in Multiple Locations, United States

Microsoft Investment Optimization (IO) finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy hiring for a Finance Manager. This role is at the center of the reinvention and innovation of our engineering resource allocation opportunity, with partnership with executive finance leaders and impacting company-wide decisions.

This team/role has scope across 5 engineering organizations to enable a consistent, portfolio-based view and strategic approach to ensure Microsoft investments in engineering headcount resources are reflected in accurate, timely and industry-leading views.

Responsibilities

  • Design new approaches to collecting and evaluating financial data, and empower your team to drive improvements in data management through automation and early adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. You’ll lead and develop your team to translate data into actionable insights, and implement creative ways to communicate findings from data.

  • Lead the effort to standaridize the headcount reporting views and work with Finance Data & Experience (FD&E) to automate.

  • Partner with headcount subject matter experts (SME) for headcount forecasting process and providing guidance on drivers such as attrition assumptions

  • Create and oversee management of a variety of financial and resource models for headcount to support weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and forecast rhythms, co-lead annual engineering resource allocation process.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communications

  • Proven Excel and modeling skills.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Able to handle ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at fast pace

  • Able to manage multiple work streams and prioritize as needed

  • Collaborative and inclusive when working with others

  • Synthesize and communicate analyses and reporting; provide insight to senior leaders

Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $72,800 - $144,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $95,100 - $157,900 per year.
