We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team! Our job at Microsoft Security is to safeguard all the users, organizations, and systems that rely on Microsoft Identity systems from unauthorized access and fraud. The Microsoft Authenticator app enables this by providing millions of users easy, convenient, and secure ways to sign in to all of their online accounts using multifactor authentication and passwordless authentication.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes livesite and performs on-call duties on a rotational basis to ensure product quality.

  • Partner with stakeholders (product managers, peer engineers), to design new features, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions.

  • Write code that is extensible and maintainable. Applies coding patterns and best practices to write code. Actively participates in code reviews to maintain high quality.

  • Collaborate with others in an agile environment to ensure all stakeholders are aligned.

  • Create clear and articulated test plans and write automated test cases to ensure good feature test coverage.

  • Adopts best practices for safe deployment of features to customers and monitors health of feature.

  • Embody Microsoft culture and values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 2+ years of engineering experience with iOS app development, and coding in Swift and/or Objective-C.

  • OR equivalent experience. 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
