Description of Role
We are looking for enthusiastic career-minded professionals with global perspective to join the Mumbai based Portfolio Manager Support Services Group.
This role will reside within MSIM’s Specialty Solutions Group, which manages over $50B of assets across several tax-managed equity and private offerings. The individual will help support the analysts and equity portfolio management team with research, analytics, and financial modeling.
Key responsibilities
As a part of the Mumbai based Portfolio Manager Support Services Group, the individual shall be an integral part of a small team working directly with research analysts and portfolio managers to create and implement research projects across the team. We are looking for someone with a unique blend of business, financial and technical data skills who is looking to make an impact.
To succeed in this role, you should be a self-starter, creative, and curious, with an interest in leveraging data and analytics to develop models and innovative research solutions.
The individual will be responsible for the following:
Work with the investment team to identify and understand relevant drivers of stock performance within specific sectors and industries
Develop, back test and maintain sector-specific multifactor models to assist in security selection and portfolio construction
Employ data visualization tools for various projects and analysis
Conduct financial analysis and modeling
Support multiple projects across all focus areas through data gathering, modeling and analysis
Experience and Skills
In depth knowledge of the global investment management industry.
The ability to work effectively in a thoughtful, collaborative team environment.
Strong communication skills, interacting effectively with quantitative colleagues as well as less technical audiences.
Passion for investment management.
Excellent verbal and writing skills in English.
Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Qualification / Technical Expertise
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree would be a plus) in Accounting, Finance, Business, Science or related fields.
CFA or CFA candidate preferred.
Experience with financial tools and databases (e.g., FactSet, Bloomberg, MSCI Barra).
3 years’ relevant professional experience (e.g., Investment Management, Capital Markets, Data Science)
A strong foundation and understanding of financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
