We partner with advisors, institutions, and consultants to build portfolios focused on what's important to them and their clients. This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 2-3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.

ABOUT TEAM The Core Systems Solutions team at Parametric:

Primarily focuses on developing highly resilient and scalable core data services on AWS cloud providing unified API interface across business domains. Leverage NoSql database, Spring Boot, Java, Python, React and AWS native applications such as S3, AWS Lambda, AWS ECS/EKS for Docker container orchestration, DynamoDB etc. Primary Application currently under development is used to reconcile trade data.

ABOUT THE ROLE The Senior Software Engineer on the Core Services team is responsible for developing and support of cloud-based services primarily targeting AWS with primary goal to provide scale, low latency and high through data layer for portfolio management and operational needs. In this role the ideal candidate will be leveraging object-oriented language like Java and apply distributed computing principles to deploy containerized services or serverless technologies on AWS.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop AWS based micro services to provide portfolio positions data to various applications.
  • Docker container based services orchestrated using AWS ECS/EKS
  • Write Junit tests focusing both on integration as well as performance testing.
  • Interact with various teams to assimilate new data sources and develop new features to support new data requirements.
  • Provide support for the service with respect to data quality as well performance to all consuming applications and users.

SKILL SET Required Experience: 7 years Skill set: Java / Microservices Architecture / REST

PRIMARY SKILLS

  • 7 years of software development experience in Java
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering required
  • A minimum one or more of the following services experience o 4 years developing distributed systems o 4 years developing containerized applications deployed either on-prem or in the cloud
  • 3 years of experience with relational database engine
  • 3 years of experience with NoSql database engine like Redis, Cassandra or MongoDB
  • Good understanding of distributed computing principles
  • Strong aptitude for high efficient data structures and algorithms
  • Excellent communication and ability to collaborate well with both technical and non-technical users
  • Conduct code reviews of other developers
  • Share experience, knowledge, and ideas with the team to improve processes and productivity Mentor new or less senior developers

    Good to Have Skills:

  • Cloud native services development experience is a plus: AWS preferred
  • Experience with other programming languages like Python or C#
  • Financial services, especially asset management industry experience
