Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of Nursing Clinical Operations promotes high quality, patient-centered care by facilitating the advancement of clinical operations for the HCA enterprise through the HCA Nursing Operations Strategy. The Director guides the development and execution of initiatives and programs that drive improvements in clinical and operational efficiency and effectiveness.

What you will do in this role:

• Executes the Nursing Operations agenda across the organization.

• Leads efforts and/or offer subject matter expertise in developing enterprise strategies related to efforts such as improving efficiencies and effectiveness in patient care delivery, operational resiliency, alternate models of patient care, reducing length of stay, and design and construction.

• Supports team site assessments, in partnership with Division Nursing Operations and PI where applicable. Provides evaluation and consultation in the areas of general inpatient nursing operations, throughput, staffing, clinical performance, or other areas as directed.

• Identifies and evaluates practices across the enterprise for scale. Designs and deploys best practices/processes/programs that improve nursing efficiency and effectiveness. Evaluates field execution for ongoing performance management.

• Develops toolkits, presentations, change management collateral, education materials, and resources to assist with field execution. Incorporates evidence-based practice and management principles into all resources.

• Collaborates with Division Vice Presidents of Nursing Operations in identification, development, and execution of initiatives.

• Seeks feedback from key stakeholder groups to address critical business needs, eliminate barriers, and ensure performance and execution.

• Designs and delivers executive presentations at multiple levels within the organization.

• Maintains effective communication with corporate, division, and facility leadership teams.

• Facilitates education, research and other professional activities.

• Builds a competitively superior organization through attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent. Ensures people with the right skills and motivations are in the right role, at the right time, to meet business needs.

• This role may require travel up to 50%

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required

• Master’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration is strong preferred.

• 7+ years of experience in hospital or nursing operations.

• LEAN or Six Sigma Certification or equivalent is required.
