Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY

Acquires echocardiographic data using transthoracic transducer acquisition with the patient at rest under the supervision and/ or director of a physician. Work includes morphologic imaging, assessment of myocardial function, recording of hemodynamic parameters, visualization of blood flow. May perform and administer contrast imaging under the direction of a physician.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Applies broad range of skills to ensure exam is completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards

• Provides appropriate Echo testing process to patients, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards

• Gathers echocardiographic images for all patients including the clinically complex patients

• Communicates findings to the healthcare team including recognition of abnormal studies

• The responsibility listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

• Compliance (Novice): Can explain and apply basic statutory instructions in normal situations on the job. Understands the principles upon which the rules and regulations are based. Appropriately escalates problems relating to rules and regulations in timely and effective manner.

• Echocardiography Technology (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience working with echocardiography technology.

• Diagnostic Equipment (Fundamental Awareness): Has training, direct exposure, limited experience, or past experience working with equipment diagnostic tools. Able to resolve simple equipment problems.

• Patient Documentation Management (Fundamental Awareness): Writes clear, concise and comprehensive documentation operational procedures, etc. Incorporates accepted technical documentation conventions and uses graphics and other visual aids to assure understanding by the reader. Adheres to governmental documentation requirements and associated templates and forms. Creates outlines and organizes thoughts before attempting to write a document. Edits and proofreads drafts before completing documents, adopts constructive critiques and integrates changes easily.
