About the Manager, Strategic Finance

Upperline is looking for a Manager, Strategic Finance to support the organization by providing analytical and financial insight for our corporate teams, physician practices, and ancillary businesses. This person will be a critical member of a face-paced team and will report directly to the SVP, Finance.

The Manager, Strategic Finance will have meaningful influence in the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of Upperline’s rapidly growing business. Through partnership with the SVP, Finance this role will have high visibility and engagement with Upperline’s senior leadership and interface directly with various functional areas within the organization to support financial, strategic, and operational analyses.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the development of financial models, presentations, and other content to be used in internal/external meetings with senior stakeholders.

  • Prepare regular monthly financial reports for leadership, operators, investors, and other stakeholders, as well as quarterly reports for the Board of Directors.

  • Partner collaboratively with cross-functional teams to respond to questions and other requests regarding financial and operational analysis.

  • Support the monthly financial statement close process, including detailed review of preliminary financials.

  • Perform ad hoc analyses and manage special projects, identify potential areas for improvement, and model future growth opportunities for the company.

  • Collaborate with the SVP, Finance to improve upon the detailed, bottoms-up annual budgeting process.

  • Provide overall financial and strategic advice to senior management based on insight gleaned from the financial statements and various analyses.

  • Involvement in implementation and management of a new provider compensation model.

  • Gather data from internal systems, perform analyses, and report results and insights.

  • Assist with pre-acquisition analyses and post-acquisition integration, as needed.

  • Ad hod hoc analyses and other duties, as needed.

  • Providing other support to senior management, as needed. 

Experience and Qualifications

  • 2 - 3 years of investment banking, private equity, or healthcare consulting experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience evaluating financial data and preparing financial reports/analyses.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact across a broad spectrum of teams, including multiple levels of management and physicians.

  • Demonstrated success prioritizing, organizing and meeting time-sensitive deadlines.

  • Values exceptional attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.

  • Experience building financial models and/or budgets.

  • Expert-level Excel skills.

  • Exhibits servant leadership qualities with strong motivation, determination, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to be successful in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.

Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience.
