Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates and supports individual patients and families throughout point of care program(s) to ensure program goals are effectively executed with some guidance. Assures coordination of diagnostic evaluations, treatments, surgeries and follow-up appointments throughout the course of care/episode for a specific patient population.

This position supports approximately ten physicians who manage a complex patient population requiring extensive clinical and administrative advocacy. This position will work directly with the RN Coordinator who manages this program.

Preferred Education, Skills, and Experiences:

-1+ year experience in physician scheduling

-Highly organized with the ability to mutli-task,

-Ability to adapt and pivot in fast-pace working environment

Department Summary:

The Vanderbilt Lung Institute brings together experts in diagnosing and treating lung disease from pulmonary medicine, thoracic surgery and allergy. This unique approach gives hope through coordinated, personalized and compassionate care for even the most complex conditions that affect the lungs and breathing.

Hours:

This is a Monday - Friday; DAYS position. The hours are approximately 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. but hours may vary depending on department needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partners with clinical care staff and providers to ensure all regulatory requirements are met to maintain patient care needs, program guidelines and/or required accreditation standards.

• Acts as a point of access for patients, referring providers and the Vanderbilt community.

• Develops both short and long term goals to ensure programs' success.

• Provides support to patient care team to market programs and streamline business models to allow for appropriate growth.

• Establishes contact with existing, newly diagnosed, potential, or referred patients by facilitating access to providers, educational materials and communication with care providers.
