We are searching for an exceptionally talented, bright, and driven Sr. Financial Analyst to lead the financial development of organizational value creation strategies. Sustainable value creation is a key driver within our overall product strategy and portfolio success is dependent on the development and implementation of effective long-term growth drivers.

The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with interactions across a wide variety of e-commerce and logistics topics and stakeholders, including Demand, Product, Operations, and Sales. As a Sr. Financial Analyst, you will collaborate with business leaders to identify, define, prioritize, implement, and measure initiatives designed to improve E2E value creation. You will collaborate with our Operations, Product, Data Science, Sales, and Business Intelligence teams and own key financial decisions related to E2E value creation.

The scope for this role focuses on building new process and mechanisms, establishing new business partner relationships, benchmarking market segment opportunities, building analytical and financial models to recommend opportunities and strategies that optimize for long term free cash flow, and build business cases for the implementation of individual strategic initiatives.

This role requires a high degree of curiosity and ownership, and the ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work across teams and earn trust with key stakeholders to drive results.

Key job responsibilities

To have success, the candidate must be able work through ambiguous situations, diving deep and leveraging data where possible, to make informed recommendations. They must demonstrate a high degree of curiosity about opportunities within the business and then exhibit the ownership needed to drive outcomes. This person needs to be able to think big, identifying opportunities through benchmarking (internally and externally). Strong mix of technical and soft skills are a must, as candidates will need to build business cases with high degrees of financial acumen and then communicate effectively across senior finance and non-finance leaders.

About the team

The Global Logistics Finance Strategy team manages Sales and Marketing strategies, Demand Forecasting, Pricing and Promotional strategies, Value Creation strategies, and strategic initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of Tableau

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
