Position Summary :

Johnson & Johnson Global Services is recruiting for a Director position leading the Global Finance Master Data Management, located in Manila Philippines. The role provides leadership to a team of less than 100 individuals, majority based in Manila and with some in Bogota, Colombia.

Johnson & Johnson Global Services Finance provides Accounting Services and Financial support for Johnson & Johnson companies across all regions (ASIA, EMEA, LATAM and NA) from its Global Services Center in Manila. This role will be fully accountable for the overall leadership, strategy, talent development, technological and business transformations and operational delivery of Global Finance Master Data Management. The leader selected will foster an inclusive team with a global mindset, Sector knowledge and drive standardization while enhancing the insights, efficiency, effectiveness, and the employee experience for all our Credo stakeholders. The role primarily interfaces with the Finance Technology Solutions (FTS), Finance and other GS Leaders.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategy development and alignment :

  • Understand functional direction and collect end users’ inputs to set strategies.

  • Determine the portfolio of projects to deliver on the strategy

  • Deploy objectives, goals, strategies and measures of success.

  • Create or maintain and foster external relationships and benchmarking to ensure responsiveness to changing environments.

  • Setup new or modify operational structure for finance master data processes.

  • Influence and make decisions within Finance Technology and Solutions and/or GS Tech & Process / Transformation Teams.

Operational excellence delivery :

  • Manage processes for finance master data.

  • Maintain high levels of service in line with operational SLAs and build strong relationships with counterparts in Global Services.

  • Ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met within the service delivery scope.

  • Develop and drive a services roadmap to ensure continuous improvement of service quality and cost to serve.

  • Enhance MDM maturity and value creation.

Teams and People empowerment :

  • Drive and create a Credo-based culture of teamwork, collaboration and servant leadership across organizations.

  • Focus on employee health & well-being as well as talent development through learning, upskilling and providing differentiated experiences with the outcome of enabling boundaryless talent and a stronger/deeper talent pipeline.

Business engagement and partnership

  • Collaborate with Finance Solutions Technology, Finance, Global Services Cross-Functional Leaders, Technology and Transformation Teams, and other stakeholders to identify and deliver improvements in service performance and global standards, to shape and influence strategic initiatives.

  • Represent J&J Finance Service Delivery in the Global Process Owner forum for Finance Master Data.

  • Actively participate with the GS Leadership Team to provide overall leadership and direction to the future and direction of GS Finance in support of the broader Global Services Vision.

Innovation / Continuous Improvements

  • Create, encourage, adopt and deliver a portfolio of new innovative solutions/transformations and incubate new ideas in process, technology and organization design underscored by compliance to all internal control guidelines and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications :

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s level degree is required, preferably in Accounting or Finance

  • MBA, CPA, CMA, Global Services, Data Management and/or other certifications is preferred

Experience and Skills :

Required

  • At least 15 years of relevant work experience in finance with a strong foundation in financial shared services/operations, accounting, compliance and/or controllership

  • At least 3 years of proven leadership experience in a multinational setting (GBS, BPO or similar environment)

  • Experience of managing Finance Master Data Function of a large multi-state company

  • Experience and understanding of Master Data Management, Data Governance and Data Quality Competencies

  • Ability to implement data policies and principles, providing a mechanism so that data is both acceptable and accurate

  • Experience in Accounting and Financial Systems and Processes, including SAP

  • Experience with compliance and regulation

  • Experience driving large, complex projects to a successful completion as well as ability to work in a Global environment

  • Ability to lead a large organization through change while maintaining day-to-day operations

  • Ability to manage ambiguity and fluid situations, demonstrating a pragmatic approach

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead within a matrixed global environment.

  • Ability to drive and/or influence solutions and effectively communicate across various stakeholder groups

  • Ability to champion new ideas, concepts and technologies and obtain consensus from leadership and peers

  • Ability to monitor, identify, and resolve data quality-related issues

  • Ability to serve as an escalation point from a data issues perspective

  • Ability to work hours that support a global role. This requires working primarily mid-shift (between 1-3 pm until 12 am) with cases such as financial closing and planning requiring additional support

  • Ability to manage teams across regions (Manila, Bogota)

Preferred

  • Track record of driving business results through inspirational leadership, empowering people to act with speed, agility and accountability to deliver against the organizational goals.

  • Strong understanding of current best practices in Accounting and Financial Systems, including SAP.

  • Significant experience in leading strategic business improvement and process initiatives using proven methodologies (e.g. six sigma, BPI, FPX, etc.)

  • Project and change management capabilities

Other:

  • This position will require up to 10% international travel
