Manages Boeing simulator device technicians for the Mission Training Center consisting of a number of Distributed Mission Operations-Capable Distributed Mission Trainers (DMT), and associated electronic classrooms, network/computing systems, supply, and the training system technical library. Leads a staff of 4 device technicians at Nellis, in providing training system operations, repair, troubleshooting, alignment/calibration, and upgrades/modifications. Trains, develops, and motivates employees. Oversees and approves technical approaches, products, and processes. Develops and executes plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals. Performs and oversees logistics, administrative, and collateral duties. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Interfaces directly with military customers, Boeing, and other contractor counterparts to resolve training and support issues. Works with Wing training staff, schedulers, and instructors to plan and execute customer training and support operations. Coordinates and consults with vendors and customers to determine the level of maintenance or repair to be performed on training system components. Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements. Candidate must qualify as a Training Device Technician 4. Applies advanced maintenance knowledge and technical information in training system technical documentation to correct equipment malfunctions. Repairs and modifies F-22 training system components by changing, removing, and/or replacing parts and sub-assemblies of training devices, visual systems, classrooms, network/computing systems, and input/output systems. Troubleshoots to isolate mechanical or electrical faults, and repairs faulty components. Performs detailed inspections for pre-operations, post-operations, and component handling to verify maintenance actions, operational readiness, and configuration management. Consults with engineers to troubleshoot systems and support equipment. Documents work in accordance with engineering planning documents, technical manuals, and local guidelines.

The site manager for the F-22 Mission Training Center (MTC) simulation services contract at Nellis is responsible for successfully managing all aspects of site operations and leading assigned Boeing personnel in the extremely dynamic environment of the most diverse base in the Pacific theater United States Air Force (USAF). Nellis conducts weapons and tactics training, operational test and evaluation, and provides advanced, realistic, and multi-domain combat training.

Due to the geographic isolation of the site and time zone differences, the site manager is entrusted to represent The Boeing Company to the USAF and ANG customers on a 24/7/365 basis with minimal real-time oversight from program management in St Louis, Missouri and San Antonio, Texas.

The site manager provides the time critical operational interface with the local United States Air Force customer necessary to successfully plan and coordinate the real-time training requirements of F-15 aircrew in support of combat training. The site manager interfaces, on a routine basis, with the USAF customer at the wing, group, squadron and flight commander leadership and management levels. The site manager interfaces, on a routine basis, with the contract instructor site manager to ensure comprehensive and high-quality training is available to the USAF F-22 warfighters.

The site manager is a technical subject matter expert on the F-22 simulator device aircraft, its operational employment and implementation in the MTC training system. The site manager assists instructs USAF personnel and contract instructors with the proper use of the MTC training system to meet F-22 warfighter training requirements. The site manager collects information from MTC users and applies his subject matter expertise to recommend opportunities for training enhancements and additional revenue for The Boeing Company.

The site manager leads and manages training device maintenance technicians and, one industrial security specialist and one information security specialist to ensure contractual availability, security and safety requirements are surpassed. The site manager works with the local contracting officer representative and base leadership to identify and resolve MTC system, facility and personnel issues.

Position Responsibilities:

Security Clearance:

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience ) :

  • Knowledge of U.S. Air Force or DoD aviation maintenance practices

  • 5+ years of experience with maintenance of avionics and/or electronic equipment

  • 4+ years of experience working on military flight simulation devices

  • Willing & able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Associate’s degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience with F-22 and/or F-15 maintenance and troubleshooting

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Nellis AFB, NV.)

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $120,700 – $163,300
