The Position

The Division of Public & Behavioral Health (DPBH) is recruiting for a Health/Human Services Professional Trainee within Health Care, Quality, & Compliance (HCQC) in Carson City, Nevada. This recruitment maybe used to underfill a Health Facility Inspector 2 position. Advancement through the series may occur after meeting the minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with endorsement of the appointing authority.

Under guidance of a higher level inspector incumbent performs file reviews and other complex aspects of the inspection process at the journey level which include conducting inspections of health care providers and/or facilities throughout Nevada; completing observations, interviews, and record reviews to evaluate compliance with standards, regulations, and physician's orders and/or treatment plans; documenting results and preparing report of findings; and communicating with and educating providers as needed to improve patient outcomes and assure regulatory compliance.

To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, early childhood development, psychology, public health, special education, nursing, or other discipline directly related to the field in which the applicant is to be trained; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained. (NOTE: some jobs strictly require a bachelor's degree).

Applicants must have a current Driver's License.

A pre-employment criminal background and fingerprint check is required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

Additional Position Criteria

This position requires travel to facilities throughout Nevada to complete inspections and out-of-state travel for training and/or conferences.
