The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. The position will be responsible for the development of tissue culture and transformation protocols for different plant species. The position will also be responsible for growing untransformed and genetically engineered plants in the greenhouses, assaying plants for disease resistance, stress tolerance and the phenotypes designed. The position is to report to the Principal Investigator on research progresses orally and in written documents, helps other students and hourly workers in the laboratory and assists laboratory maintenance.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
