Our Valued Client has partnered with Robert Half in search of a Director of Financial Reporting to join its growing team.

Position Overview:

The Director of Financial Reporting will be a key member of our leadership team, directly reporting to the CFO. This hands-on role requires a proven professional with extensive experience in SEC reporting, technical accounting research, and liaising with external auditors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the Biotech/Pharma/Healthcare space and be capable of performing detailed and complex financial reporting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and filing of SEC reports, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and other required filings.

  • Develop and maintain financial statement footnotes and disclosures in compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.

  • Conduct technical accounting research and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the audit process and ensuring timely and accurate completion.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and SEC regulations, ensuring the company’s financial reports are in compliance.

  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting.

  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the CFO and leadership team based on financial analysis and reporting.

  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

  • CPA certification is strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience, with a strong preference for candidates with Big4 or large regional public accounting firm experience.

  • Proven experience in the Biotech/Pharma/Healthcare industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and technical accounting.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
