Actalent Medical Laboratory Technologist in New Providence, New Jersey

Immediate medical technologist opportunity with a non profit organization that specializes with organ donations. This position offers the opportunity to save lives and work with a tenured team looking for a candidate with flow cytometry, molecular, or blood bank experience and their ASCP certification!

Description:

  • Follow clinical laboratory standards

  • Support flow cytometry, blood bank, and molecular procedures

  • Work in high complexity testing laboratory

  • HLA transplant laboratory, work on immunology (white cells) samples

  • ABO typing for patient and donor

  • HLA typing or DNA typing for patient and local donors on live or deceased patients

  • HLA antibody testing, screening (test for positive screen or not) and identification (what antibodies or antigens the donor has).

  • ABO, HLA typing, flow cross match will be main responsibility of this new hire

  • Work with blood or tissue (red or yellow tubes and spleen or nodes)

  • FACSLyric (Flow cytometry area for Flow crossmatch and Ab screening)

  • LABScan 3D (antibody area: to identify Ab)

  • LABScan 10 (antibody area: to ID Ab)

  • Linkseq and Vii7 Real-time PCR (DNA area: for HLA typing)

  • Gel card and tube method for ABO typing

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

ASCP certified (any discipline)

BS in Medical Laboratory Science or life science

1+ year of clinical laboratory experience
