About the role

Job Summary

Providing leadership, management, and development of an agreed portfolio of CBRE contracts, ensuring financial and operational commitments are met and exceeded.

What you’ll do

•Provide leadership, guidance, and expertise across a client account to ensure contractual commitments are met and exceeded.

•Ensure business policies and processes are effectively communicated, implemented, and adhered to within contracts.

•Ensure there is a healthy and safe working environment across the portfolio and that both clients and CBRE health and safety policy/process are effectively implemented across both internal and sub-contracted activities.

•Ensure optimum staffing structures operate across contracts, balancing cost reduction with the delivery of service excellence.

•Ensure structures support peaks and troughs in workload, disaster recovery, and the sharing of expertise across the portfolio.

•Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent teams, taking direct responsibility for the appointment of Contract Managers/functional Managers, and that effective succession planning arrangements are in place.

•Ensure the provision of a learning environment, with appropriate training and development planning, so that required training needs are delivered, and employees are fully competent to undertake their roles positioned to reach their full potential.

•Work with other operational managers to ensure the collaborative development of the business, effective team-working, and support to colleagues throughout the Business Unit.

•Development of financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, reduction of WIP, debt, cost reduction, and contract growth, and ensuring that these are met and exceeded.

•Ensure appropriate contract governance exists across your portfolio, including client meetings, internal reviews, and audit and control systems to meet statutory, policy, and contractual commitments.

•Support effective business communication through advice, review, leadership, and direct contribution to management and team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, publicity, monthly and ad-hoc reporting, and other publications.

•Support the sales process through solution development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings, hosting visits, and support mobilization as required on new contracts.

•Ensure the contracts within your portfolio are well-positioned for contract renewal/extension, and lead on the solution/proposal development process to secure this.

•Support organic growth across the portfolio by acquiring additional service lines and project work across the patch.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

•Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.

•Requires eight years or more of relevant work experience.

•Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.

•Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.

•Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.

•In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

•Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures. Approves and oversees department budget.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.

New York Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience.

The minimum salary for the Account Director position is $84,100 annually and the maximum salary for the Account Director position is $180,000 annually.

The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.

Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
