Description

Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.

Purpose of Position: The Isaacs Center is looking for a highly motivated individual to support intergenerational and community engagement efforts. In collaboration with the Engagement and Success team, this role supports program recruitment efforts, manages integrational programming, and builds a strategy for engaging NYCHA residents within the Isaacs/Holmes development and surrounding communities.

Schedule:Monday through Friday. 35 hours per week.

Salary Range:$37,668-$45,000

Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

Operational Functions:

  • Assist departmental leadership in monthly budget audits.

  • Manage disbursement and monthly audits of participant incentives and staff/student MetroCards.

  • Collaborate with administrative staff on reception area maintenance and managing guest/client interactions.

  • Order necessary supplies for the Engagement & Success team's operations.

    Client Files and Data:

    • Maintain and update participant records while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Utilize Salesforce for generating reports, data analysis, and data entry for program-related information.

    Program Functions:

  • Support in organizing events, workshops, and activities.

  • Coordinate logistics for program-related events and communication with participants, volunteers, and stakeholders via various platforms like Salesforce, Constant Contact, and Social Media.

  • Assist in maintaining Education and Workforce media platforms, including Blogs, Newsletters, Instagram, and Facebook.

    Documentation and Reporting:

  • Compile and maintain program documentation in adherence to organizational standards.

  • Assist in preparing regular reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external use.

  • Aid in monitoring program budgets and expenses.

  • Collect, organize, and submit purchase receipts and invoices relevant to the Engagement & Success team following organizational fiscal procedures.

  • Additional duties as assigned

    Qualifications/Educational Requirements

    Education

  • Associates degree, Bachelors preferred

    Experience

  • Must have 1-2 years professional experience in an office setting, high degree of attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff and clients

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in community organizing and working with young adults (16-24) and older

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A Working knowledge: Basic understanding of youth development, social media management

  • General knowledge: Sufficient knowledge of budgeting, the Isaacs Center and Goddard Riverside programming,

  • Thorough knowledge: Software essential to the role (Microsoft office, Outlook, Zoom, etc)

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to work outdoors, weather permitting

  • Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.

  • May require light physical effort/lifting, up to 20 pounds of promotional materials/equipment

  • May be required to work weekends/nights at special events

  • Some travel required within the five boroughs for meetings and site visits
