The Media team at Citi is a critical area of focus and growth for the Citi Marketing organization. The group is tasked with transforming our media capabilities, digital investment, and measurement strategies. The team works in close partnership with US and Global Digital, Analytics, Acquisitions, Brand, Advertising, Sponsorship, Entertainment and Product Management teams.
The Advertising Technology strategist is an experienced individual focused on tech stack optimization, simplification of media tactics, and analyzing quality metrics that protect Citi’s brand while driving business outcomes. This role is instrumental to Citi’s media transformation strategy and reports into the Lead of Media Transformation and AdTech within Citi’s media organization.
Expect to work not only on transforming Citi’s approach to media, but also transforming the larger ecosystem through best-in-class strategic technology partnerships that futureproof the industry in preparation for a privacy-first, opt-in advertising experience.
Advertising Technology Strategist
Key responsibilities:
Develop and execute Citi’s future-proof platform capabilities strategy by identifying best-in-class platforms for media management activities included, but not limited to, buying, optimization, and measurement
Support the strategy and growth of the programmatic roadmap that outlines test and learn opportunities within: Brand Safety, DSP Strategy, SSP Strategy, Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO), and Identity based activation
Manage programmatic vendor relationships to grow strategic partnerships through regular partner brainstorming and feedback opportunities that put Citi at the forefront of defining the programmatic landscape
Provide analytical support across deep programmatic metrics including but not limited to: supply path optimization, attention data, sustainability metrics, and media quality metrics.
Oversee agency programmatic strategy and operations
Manage and optimize Citi’s programmatic playbook across DSP and supply setup including investment focus for PG, PMP, and Open exchange buying
Show an understanding of clean room capabilities and partner with MarTech and Data Management teams in defining Citi’s approach to clean rooms and consolidation within existing measurement technology
Determine AdTech contracting process for transparency, control, and preferred rates
Communicate with Citi legal teams to receive approval of new and emerging technology utilization
Be able to simplify programmatic technology and vernacular across multiple groups within Citi to educate on the digital ecosystem
Responsible for supporting storytelling and the ad tech vision to multiple levels of leadership across various organizations with ability to pivot communication strategies based off audience.
Qualifications
6-10 years of proven experience within programmatic media, whether client side, publisher side or agency side
Expertise in AdTech and MarTech tools (audience management tools, DSP/SSP, bid management, ad serving, web analytics, identity solutions, etc)
6+ years of hands-on programmatic media buying experience
Proven experience managing brand safety data and ability to demonstrate role of brand safety in media buying practices
Technical aptitude with demonstrated knowledge around data flows, tagging, implementation, and platform interactions
Ability to articulate a post-cookie vision for media and the steps advertisers must take to prepare with proven examples of milestones already reached
Strong analytical skillset comfortable working with large sets of data
Must be able to analyze large sets of data and pull out detailed information that support the goals of the Citi AdTech vision.
Expert storyteller. Must be able to take complicated and technical components of the stack and break it down into a digestible narrative and sell-through ideas to multiple levels of leadership
Experience working with legal on contract negotiation process for AdTech platforms
Must be process oriented and organized
Delivery of high-quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Effective team player with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent attention to detail, organization skills and strong presentation skills
Financial services experience a plus
Experience with financial services legal and compliance process a plus
Experience in successfully influencing others and navigating complex and highly-matrixed organizations
Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree preferred

$116,880.00 - $175,320.00
