Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Financial Analyst. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing basic to moderate range of Project and Revenue Cycle coordination. Works with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run and complete projects. Promotes, coordinates and supports the development of projects (gathering, collecting and analysis data). Facilitates the administration process of departmental activities (e.g., Maintaining records, compiling, monitoring and developing budget; organizing and coordinating seminars, training programs and other related activities). Prepares financial and/or operational analyses and reports, and audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of operations. Maintains data integrity when manipulating data files for purposes of analysis; running data multiple ways when necessary to ensure accuracy of results; plus all related job duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Compile and review analyses, reporting, key performance indicators, claim denials and operational metrics. Participate in corrective actions in response to variances and trends.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Assist in forecasting models
    • Help design and develop standard department reports (i.e. Anticipate number of deliveries in a given month or period; missing charges; identify patients who transferred that ob care was not billed for, etc.).
    • Assist the management team in compiling and analyzing data and reports on an as needed basis
    • Review and analyze claim denials. Identify trends and suggest corrective action.
    • Prepares status and ad-hoc reports
    • improvement if applicable to ensure appropriate cycle times and efficiency.
    • Leverages technology for process, performance, and quality improvement activities.
    • Assists in the training of clerical staff, assistants, trainee and volunteers for the department. Reviews workflow and might recommend
    • Assists in developing materials and presentations for training and educational sessions, departmental seminars and other activities.

    • Researches problems, issues and concerns and responds to requests for information.
    • Prepares reports and documentation in accordance with practice/FGP guidelines.
    • Create conceptual, logical and physical data model to support new and existing projects
    • Data analysis and profiling, be able to identify the existing and potential data integrity issues, and implement appropriate solutions
    • Gathers and collects data from different parties and presents findings as applicable
    • Reviews, edits, obtain appropriate approvals. Responds to routine correspondences and refers non routine items to the appropriate party..
    • Independently prepares and reviews documents, and generates status/progress reports for ongoing and pending Projects which may include moderate analysis of findings. Outlines agenda, plans and prepares presentations, and composes a variety of memos and letters.
    • Provides basic to moderate coordination for project activities to a manager or director, which includes but not limited to coordination of project while working/communicating with internal and external parties to organize and coordinate the various components needed to initiate, run and conclude Project activities.
    • Identifies, researches and analyzes billing errors and/or omissions, working with appropriate staff/team members; ensures that revisions/corrections forwarded and incorporated in processing systems in timely manner.
    • Help to identify and quantify operational deficiencies that may be adversely affecting physician billing and/or cash flow i.e. IT systems issues, process issues in other areas of the Center (registration, clinical/operational staff on the floor), etc. Assist in finding solutions to these issues.
    • Collaborate with the Radiology Operations Manager to identify and resolve issues that affect patient access and cash flow (credentialing issues).
    • Maintain current, working knowledge of practice management system (Epic). Work with the Radiology managers and CBO/billing vendor to address physician concerns, operational and IT issues.
    • Participate in monthly billing meetings to identify opportunities for improvement and conducts routine meetings with the staff to discuss the results of benchmarks and redirect staff efforts as needed.
    • Serve as the liaison with billing vendor and monitor their metrics and performance improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1. Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 2. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel (including advanced functions, such as complex formulas, pivot tables, graphing), Access (RDBM, Data management), PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications 3. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. 4. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. 5. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. 6. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multi task while paying attention to details. 7. Solid experience with SQL and relational databases 8. Strong analytical skills

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $69,675.18 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
