Compensation:

Associate Staff Analyst (OA – Represented by TWU): Min: - Max: $85,316 - $110,468

Associate Staff Analyst (TA – Represented): Min: - Max: $77,356 - $100,155 - (New Hire Start Rate: $67,264)

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will perform financial and program analyses pertaining MetroCard vending machine sales. Responsibilities include monitoring, reconciling, and reporting cash, credit and debit card sales from NYCT, PATH and Air Train vending machines; creates daily and monthly reports for cash, debit and credit card sales and reconciling debit and credit card transaction fees associated with machine sales. Processes debit card adjustments through the merchant services provider, as well as respond to debit card sale disputes.

Education and Experience:

Associate Staff Analyst:

  • A master’s degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, and one year of satisfactory full ‐ time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management, or in a related area; or

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full ‐ time professional experience in the areas described in ʺ 1 ʺ .

Desired Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking and research skills

  • Knowledge of debit and credit card payment processing, settlement and reconciliation of funds and transaction fees

  • Knowledge of the various types of MetroCard fare products and the Automated Fare Collection system.

  • Must have excellent analytical, problem solving and judgement skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
