Description/Job Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst position is responsible for supporting practice group attorneys and staff with in-depth business and legal research of key industries, law firm competitors and improve the Firm's knowledge of relevant current awareness.
Responsibilities/Duties
Conducts efficient and cost-effective research support to attorneys and Firm personnel using the most appropriate sources to deliver results in a concise, objective, and meaningful way
Assist with the onboarding, orientation and training of attorneys, paralegals and administrative departments
Builds subject matter expertise in Firm's practice areas to derive and support actionable insights
Leverages internal and external data to identify opportunities, market trends and client movements to provide actionable information to requestors
Performs complex research requests and supports large intelligence projects, as assigned
Keeps up to date on changes and developments in current awareness resources, features, and functions and proactively implements changes to ensure the Firm's current awareness program is providing the highest value to requestors
Engages with new hires to provide desired current awareness support by adding them to existing alerts / newsletters or creating and managing new alerts / newsletters
Provides legal research services to attorneys and staff as needed
Keeps up-to-date on changes and developments in information resources and develops knowledge of unique search strategies for each
Recognizes the value of professional networking and actively participates in professional associations and online communities
Participates in rotating weekend coverage
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Experience
Minimum of three (3) years Marketing or Legal research experience preferably in a law firm or corporate environment
Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to scheduling changes and shifts in priorities
Proficient in utilizing resources including, but not limited to: Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg, BloombergLaw, , Capital IQ, Deal Point Data, Manzama, Newsdesk
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, especially Excel and PowerPoint, as well as SharePoint
Customer-service oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong inter-personal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Process-oriented with great attention to detail and technical acuity
Superior organizational skills, unflagging attention to detail, and demonstrated commitment to the accuracy and completeness of information
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Marketing, or a related field
Preferred Education
- ALA-accredited Master's degree in Library Science or Master's of Business Administration
Details
Salary Information
The estimated base salary range for this position is $110k to $125k at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning that it is not overtime pay eligible.
