Citigroup Director – Senior Alternatives Risk Manager (Hedge Funds/ Private Markets Risk Manager) in New York, New York

Team/Role Overview:
The Credit Risk Manager will join the 1st LOD (line of defense), spanning various portfolios including Hedge Funds, Private markets Counterparties
Full suite of Citi capabilities including –
HF: Prime Brokerage (EQ/FI/FX), ETD and OTC Clearing, Cross Portfolio Margining, Derivatives Trading across all products, Repo Financing, Structured Solutions, Management Company Financing;
PE Funds: Derivatives Trading across all products, Repo Financing, Management Company Financing, Subscription Credit Financing, Structured Solutions incl. NAV Financing, Secondaries Financing, Asset Backed Facilities etc.
Lead junior staff to manage portfolio of diverse set of counterparties and oversee annual reviews/limit exceptions
Responsibilities include regional team and portfolio leadership
What you’ll do:
Role demands excellence in analysis, underwriting, monitoring, and drives global consistency across regions
Experience underwriting and supporting a portfolio of complex products
Strong knowledge of Derivatives and structured lending
Facilitate relationships with key clients in Banking and Risk What we’ll need from you
What we’ll need from you:
Ability to understand capital markets products and complex financing and product structures
Significant risk/risk-related counterparty credit work experience in banking/financial institutions with expertise in the alternative investment counterparties
Demonstrates strong ethics and integrity
Strong leadership. Dynamic, flexible, and with strong communication skills
Can make decisions under pressure and short timeline
Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Active listening skills.
Excellent presentation skills – adept at presenting effectively to audiences of various sizes and various constituencies.
Qualifications:
15+ years financial services experience including credit experience in corporate and commercial bank
Regulatory experience or relevant experience in a similar role at another institution is desirable.
Fully conversant in credit policy matters
Good knowledge of capital markets products, including derivatives
Skilled at analyzing root causes of problems and anticipating “horizon” issues
Ability to coordinate and manage large review teams
Ability to work at senior levels and build constructive and effective relationships with peers
Effective analytical, written and oral communication skills
Project management skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
