This role can be based out of our New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, or Mountain View office locations. We are looking for a Director, Strategic Sourcing Operations to join our team to lead Sourcing Operations which supports and analyzes the end-to-end Source to Pay process, enhances and implements technology solutions; business, functional design & implementation.  In this role, you will lead the following functions:  systems & tools, business intelligence, and project management office for Strategic Sourcing.  Your team will partner on the most important strategic and operational initiatives to drive continued innovation and operational efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing leadership to drive global analysis and operating strategies for Strategic Sourcing organization and across the Source to Pay function.

  • Effectively lead and develop a team of Strategic Sourcing team members.

  • Drive high priority initiatives including (but not limited to) strategic planning, category optimization, supplier optimization, process optimization and data-driven insights.

  • Partners with Product Engineering to enhance and modify Strategic Sourcing and Source to Pay systems to ensure a seamless end user experience for the business.

  • Project manage strategic sourcing programs/initiatives globally as required to evolve and transform LinkedIn’s Source to Pay process.

  • Liaise with Strategic Sourcing to ensure systems & tools, and business intelligence meets the needs of the teams.

  • Lead the business intelligence and reporting function to ensure quality data for reporting and decision making across the organization that can be shared with LinkedIn Executives for improved purchasing, productivity and forecasting.

  • Systems & Tools team manages Sourcing’s technology roadmap and strategy ensuring efficiencies and cross-functional collaboration and alignment.

  • Plan and execute all initiatives and programs for maximum impact by minimal disruption to your key stakeholders in the Strategic Sourcing Team.

  • Communicate insights to Senior Management.

  • Work with fascinating data and be at the forefront of thought leadership.

  • Manage and optimize Strategic Sourcing systems across the organization to increase efficiencies. Identify and manage the enablement and/or implementation of other applications.

  • Develop new methods of improving efficiency in the sourcing process. Provide day to day system support to the Sourcing team and business owners. Capture and report on compliance and metrics for our policies and procedures. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 10+ years of professional experience in sourcing/procurement operations, technology systems or similar functional experience.

  • 5+ years of people leadership experience.

  • Experience with source to pay technology, processes and workflow development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field

  • Experience driving operational initiatives within a global sourcing organization

  • Ability to demonstrate efficient ways to analyze data, drive insights and data driven decision making

  • Report development, metrics and illustrative dashboards

  • Ability to develop and manage technology roadmaps for large organizations

  • Proficient at managing multiple simultaneous, high impact workstreams

  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience in the tech industry preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Ability to take ownership, work with tight timelines, quickly adapt to shifting priorities and demands, analytical and problem-solving capabilities, influencing across the enterprise while delivering with a customer first focus

  • Communicates in a clear, concise, and timely manner and operates effectively as a team player.  

  • Progressive yet practical approach to Strategic Sourcing, focused on unlocking value and improving service

  • Personable and credible - ability to build productive working relationships across global teams; internal cross-functional teams and external suppliers

  • Lead discussions with varying levels of leadership and embrace difficult conversations with ease!

  • Ability to influence, empower and align people across a broad variety of job functions

  • Project management, data analytics and reporting expertise

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $149,000 - $242,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
