Citigroup Finance Transformation Program Management Execution Director (Hybrid) in New York, New York

The Finance Transformation Program Management Execution Director will be part of the COO function and report directly to the Transformation Execution Lead.

The Transformation Program Execution Management team leads a diverse set of activities across the entire Regulatory Transformation Program including (i) performing enterprise-wide data analyses and assessments across multiple programs and in multiple regions and lines of business, (ii) establishing and enforcing standards and protocols for execution consistency and quality, and (iii) acting as a SWAT team to address execution hot-spot areas and critical issues.

The Finance Transformation Program Management Execution Specialist closely partners with all of the business/function Execution Leads to ensure effective oversight over the execution of large regulatory transformation programs across all Citi businesses, functions, and regions.

This role will support execution across all programs such as Data, Compliance, Risk and Control and Finance with an emphasis on the Liquidity. The role will leverage overall execution and project management skills to (a) provide improved transparency on execution progress and status, and (b) lean in to mitigate specific execution risks and issues, particularly amongst interdependencies between programs.

This role will dive in, quickly diagnose, and triage at-risk execution initiatives, programs, and projects. The Finance Transformation Program Management Execution Specialist will also coach teams working on critical issues to get projects back on track—at times providing hands-on assistance to accelerate decision-making and execute deliverables for an interim period.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and organizations (i.e., Senior Leadership, Business & Function Risk/Control Leads, Cross Enterprise Transformation Leads, Program Execution Leads, Data Leads and Technology)

  • Resolve execution issues, where required; this would require an ability to dive into a wide array of challenging areas and demonstrate an ability to turnaround an issue quickly, working with stakeholders at various levels

  • Increase transparency for the identification of risks which impact program delivery execution, and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary

  • Support Transformation Program Management to ensure the implementation of common PMO standards, formats, reporting, and closure processes across the transformation programs

  • Ensure holistic, transparent, and clear status, issue, and risk disposition for all stakeholders, escalating any issues as needed

  • Identify and collaborate with senior management to address critical interdependency issues among regulatory transformation programs

  • Identify and address related scope across programs, other initiatives, and existing frameworks to ensure end-to-end remediation and compliance

  • Identify, size, and address, where necessary, critical delivery interdependencies within, and across, significant regulatory transformation programs

  • Track milestone dependencies across programs and escalate and address milestone delays, as needed to escalate interdependencies that may put programs at risk, as needed

  • Accelerate execution progress of the regulatory transformation programs

  • Provide “credible challenge” for all aspects of the PMO process, including RAG ratings, KPI’s, status updates, execution related issues and risks, and adherence to dates and deliverables

  • Identify and address program resource constraints (e.g., program management, SMEs, technology) in collaboration with Program and Execution Leads

  • Escalate significant remediation issues in a timely manner, and take direct control of challenged delivery across regulatory transformation programs by engaging the senior leaders of the respective areas and deploying central acceleration efforts to enable execution, if and as needed

  • Provide periodic updates to respective Senior Management on status of critical remediation programs

  • Ensure sustainability of programs through appropriate capability-building and implementation of best practice change management

Qualifications:

  • Experience across Finance areas, especially Liquidity (LST, ILST, 2052a Reporting, Reg YY) is required

  • Understanding of Capital Planning, Capital Management, Resolution Planning, Stress Testing, Business Forecasting, and/or Risk Weighted Assets is preferred

  • Understanding of data management, compliance, risk management and control functions is ideal

  • Broad experience in transformation roles including managing large complex cross-enterprise transformation programs, which incorporated process, technology and organization change employing multiple delivery styles/methodologies

  • Specific subject matter expertise regarding driving transformation and program management disciplines

  • Experience within the Financial Services Industry, with a general understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions

  • Management consulting, high-intensity work experience highly desirable

  • Track record of successfully managing large-scale transformation programs, ideally including regulatory remediation programs

  • Track record of managing internal relationships and demonstrated experience in leading sustained change and change management efforts

  • Strong project management skills, with ability to deploy flexible approach to meet the needs of a broad group of diverse stakeholders

  • Strong leadership skills and presence; can lead through influence without formal authority

  • Can work effectively in a team-based collaborative leadership model

  • Self-starter who brings high sense of urgency to assignments and goals

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to quickly come up to speed on new topics and engage in the substance of the efforts at hand

  • Well-developed listening skills and a strong ability to engage at the senior management level

  • Articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large organizations at all levels, including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/request
