Description Robert Half is looking for an outstanding Senior Fixed Income Analyst to join a fast-growing company. In this position, you will conduct financial modeling on various financial products as well as measure, analyze, and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. In addition to preparing reports for management, you will help advise management on the distribution of resources to best complete objectives. You will be a part of a dynamic team being a key business partner in areas such as forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. The Financial Analyst role will consist of supporting world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. Additional aspects of this position include operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. This Financial Analyst role, which is a full-time employment opportunity, is located in the New York, New York.

Responsibilities

  • Explain and understand internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

  • Analyze performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

  • Assemble and review forecasting reports

  • Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

  • Support weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

  • Keep track of monthly and quarterly performance by comparing actuals versus expectations and enabling business partners to handle their resources

  • Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required

  • An ideal candidate should be highly flexible, comfortable with large amounts of information, and adept at managing expectations

  • Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

  • Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

  • Provide valuable foresight and decision support through effective Business Intelligence (BI) Requirements - Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred

    • Fixed Income Portfolio experience preferred

    • Fixed income investments experience highly desired

    • Proficiency in Fixed Income Markets

    • Command of Fixed Income Instruments

    • Proven knowledge of asset backed securities

    • General familiarity with Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS)

    • Solid understanding of fixed income

    • Well-founded grasp of mortgage backed securities

    • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

    • Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

    • Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

    • Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently

    • Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience a plus)

    • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

    • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
