Amazon Information Content Manager, Operations Risk Compliance in New York, New York

Description

Amazon is looking for an Information Content Manager to join Amazon's Operations Risk Compliance (ORC) Organization. You will implement information sharing best practices, drive content management initiatives, and improve stakeholder engagement and employee cohesion across the organization. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment with a proven track record in hooking the attention of a large and diverse audience group. You will be a self-starter who can clearly formulate and communicate recommendations and plans to both peers and leaders. You will also be providing counsel and guidance to a wide variety of counterparts, and have a track record of exercising high-judgment while acting quickly.

To be successful in this role you will need excellent oral communications skills with non-native English speakers, be exceptional at copy editing your own work and others' drafts, feel natural in storytelling, and have a talent for collaboration. You should have experience working with high standards under tight deadlines. Creativity and flexibility are a must. Periodic domestic travel is required.

This individual needs to be skilled in managing multiple priorities while working with a number of global stakeholders. You will leverage various technology tools to look for data driven solutions. These are typically internal-built solutions, lacking the full user and IT support you find with publicly available software. Therefore, you'll be often expected to dive into their user guide and learn from practice.

Key job responsibilities

• Draft, proof read, and edit content for internal announcements and newsletters.

• Scope, design, launch and continuously improve information sharing and integration initiatives.

• Visual design informational multi-media materials (i.e.: notices, guides, announcements, newsletters, group posts).

• Utilize low-maintenance mechanisms to measure, evaluate, and report on the adoption, effectiveness, and business impact of products and publications.

• Work quickly and precisely under tight deadlines, prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time.

• Work closely with functional and team leaders, HR, Legal, employee relations, program management and other central groups to provide audience a consistent message.

• Build and execute program awareness campaigns, including presenting plans internally and securing leadership approval.

A day in the life

• Visually designing the layout and copy editing the content for print and digital announcements.

• Writing editorial articles that tell the story of our teams, successes and employees.

• Composing email newsletters with inspirations and recommendations from global stakeholders.

• Keeping consistent messaging across all information distribution channels.

• Driving initiatives to improve employee culture and cohesion.

• Producing informational graphical designs for project, presentations, videos, and newsletters.

• Acting as writer, interviewer, director, editor and/or producer for occasional editorial video stories.

• Designing creative short infomercials.

• Creating and maintaining standard templates for email and Slack Messenger announcements.

This role sits in ORC's Operations Excellence Team, responsible for building scalable frameworks and solutions that promote employee cohesion, integration, and stakeholder engagement. Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience leading process improvements

  • Experience producing informational graphical designs for project, presentations/videos, and newsletters.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • An entrepreneurial spirit, including ability to work independently and autonomously.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
