SALARY RANGE : $85,000 - $95,000.

SUMMARY : The Manager, Employee Engagement and Retention will work closely with the ODD team to ensure that all employee-focused program and initiatives align to enhanced new hire experiences, additional engagement and belonging recognition efforts. Leads instructor-led trainings by facilitating and/or co-facilitating workshops and sessions, both in-person and virtual, at lengthy sessions, such as all-day trainings and professional development workshops. The incumbent will be focused on making a positive impact on new hires at the moment of on-boarding (i.e., at orientation) and act as a lead steward in facilitating, implementing and tracking consistent engagement activities for employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Strategically plan for and manage program logistics from start to finish partnering cross-functionally across the People Team, and ultimately the entire organization.

  • Facilitate and refine (where needed) ODD employee program efforts. Such efforts in include, but are not limited to, Internship programs, the New Hire Orientation Program and Engagement Employee-focused initiatives.

  • Provide updates and status reports (to the Director of Employee Engagement & Retention and to the Deputy Chief, Organizational Design and Development) on the progress and effectiveness of critical initiatives such as the New Hire Orientation.

  • Partner with subject matter experts across MTA in crafting new content and curriculum for all.

  • Write communications, plans, and draft other internal content related to the learning experience that will be visible at all levels of the organization.

  • For the Internship program, provide Student Leaders with the necessary documentation; the ‘welcome’ packet, the program checklist, program goals and objectives one-pager, in addition to scheduling and conducting the First Day Onboard Meeting.

  • Define, measure, and communicate the program and initiative success metrics as it evolves.

  • Conduct training needs analyses, as well as creating design, development, delivery, evaluation, record-keeping, and reporting for the People Team.

  • Leverage thought leadership and partnership with the existing training team to continue the evolution of the MTA’s repeatable, inclusive, and employee-centric onboarding experience.

  • Leverage existing technologies to communicate, coordinate, promote and follow-up with learning communities.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, Human Resources, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Minimum 5 years related experience.

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • At least 3 years in a managerial and/or leadership role.

  • Prior experience working in a large, multi-faceted, fast-paced organization or governmental body.

  • Attainment of or in the process of attaining the SHRM-CP (“Certified Professional) or SCP (“Senior Certified Professional) or HRCI SPHR (“Senior Professional in Human Resources”) or PHR (“Professional in Human Resources”) certifications

  • Familiarity with the MTA’s policies and procedures.
