Job Summary:

The Process Improvement Analyst I provides analytical support for improvement initiatives coordinated by the Office of Strategic and Business Planning, utilizing a wide range of improvement tools and methodologies that advance Mount Sinai Health System's continuous improvement culture. The PI Analyst I plans, analyzes and executes improvement initiatives and evaluates the impact of improvement efforts in order to achieve the health system's mission and vision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conducts organizational studies and evaluations that identify opportunities for improvement initiatives through personnel interviews and in-person observations of both patient care and non-patient care areas

2. Executes complex data analysis to support leadership decision making in a variety of subject matter areas, including: process measures and performance metrics, scheduling, resource utilization, labor and productivity, quality measures, patient satisfaction measures, and demographic data

3. Develops presentations that distill and communicate analytical and observational findings to stakeholders, including creating figures and diagrams to illustrate clinical and administrative operations

4. Effectively collaborates with all levels of staff, from leadership to front line personnel. Presents findings and recommendations in formal and informal settings to project stakeholders and leadership under guidance of senior team members

5. Supports workgroups and project meetings with guidance from the team, developing trusting working relationships with all partners

6. Utilizes project management skills to track and manage the progress of each project. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: monitoring deliverables and timelines, meeting preparation and facilitation, report-out presentation preparation, and other project related tasks as necessary for project success

7. Develops and tracks metrics improvement through reports and dashboards to communicate financial and operational objectives to key stakeholders and leadership

8. Maintains current knowledge of health care delivery trends and evidence-based solutions for improving the delivery of care and services

9. Acquires and applies knowledge in a wide range of process and performance improvement methodologies

10. Actively participates in and contributes to departmental improvement initiatives

11. Performs other duties as required

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree

Experience Requirements

Up to 2 years of combined professional experience and/or graduate level education experience relevant to healthcare operations, data analysis, strategic planning and process improvement
