DoorDash Product Designer, Ordering Experience in New York, New York

About the Team

The Ordering Experience team is dedicated to assisting our customers in making informed order decisions on DoorDash. We strive to help customers save time and money by making everything in their neighborhood readily available for frictionless ordering. As platform stewards, we ensure a seamless experience across store pages, menus, carts, and checkouts with every order.

About the Role

We're seeking a Product Designer to join our dynamic Ordering Experience team. In this role, you'll have the chance to shape our product, streamlining the ordering process for customers. You'll focus on ordering product areas, drive long-term strategy and vision, and enhance our design platform to support teams across the core consumer organization.

This position is open for candidates in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York and will report to the design manager of the Decision pillar within our Consumer organization. We anticipate that this role will have a hybrid work model, with a mix of in-office and remote work.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Own product areas end to end, contribute to product strategy, run design sprints, and craft visions

  • Work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and other disciplines to build and ship your designs

  • Influence your team's approach to product development, shaping the team's culture, processes, and practices

  • Work in an organization that obsesses about craft while still beating the competition on speed-to-market

  • Improve the lives of millions of DoorDash customers every day.

    We’re excited about you because…

  • You are a mid level designer with 3+ years of work experience and a strong consumer experience portfolio across mobile and web.

  • You excel in complex problem spaces, and bring clarity to your teams through your mastery of the design process.

  • You skillfully balance strategy, research, interaction design, and visual design to achieve simple and elegant solutions.

  • You think of yourself as a craftsperson, have a passion for visual design, and usually find yourself sweating over the details

  • You are an excellent storyteller and able to distill complex topics in a clear and concise way to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Bonus: You’re a system-thinker who translates complexity into intuitive experiences and considers every facet of the user journey.
