Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Supervisor - Obs/Gyn-Staff. In this role, the successful candidate, reporting to the Vice Chair, Research and the Business Manager, will provide oversight to the research operations and regulatory requirements of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. S/he will assist in the development of new strategies to facilitate and enhance the portfolio of funded and unfunded research in the Department. The position requires excellent organizational skills, good judgment, substantial problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and deliver critical data on time and error-free. S/he will interact closely with OSR/SPA, Research MCIT, IRB, and with Finance and the Office of Clinical Trials Staff.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of research processes for internal department PIs, ensuring standardization of study documentation and adherence to regulatory requirements

Collaborate with the Residency Research Director to communicate research regulatory best practices and stay abreast of new and existing research in the department trainee space

Act as department IRB liaison, maintaining current policies/procedures and ensuring protocols are followed on any human-subject related research activity within department; As applicable, oversee the submission of necessary documents, including study consents, required by the NYU Institutional Review Board (IRB), NYU Office of Clinical Trials and any other appropriate parties in order to obtain approval to conduct human subjects' research (e.g., ensures the update and submission of necessary documents and/or forms to appropriate destination).

Oversee department Research Coordinators, including workload balancing and performance reviews, and act as administrative liaison to external research teams. Train department research staff on regulatory policies and procedures.

Oversee external research teams, including coordinating on-site schedule and liaising between study PIs and department leadership. Oversee research NTVs and adherence to attestations by PIs and volunteers

Communicate updates within Research division to department leadership and provide ad hoc reporting as requested

Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements, including proposed and final rules. Enact validation measures to track studies which may fall out of compliance and provide pathways to resolve

Ensure department studies are in compliance with regulators, institutional and departmental requirements, and serve as responsible party for programmatic support to funded and unfunded studies

Research, develop, and implement appropriate protocols for human subject and non-human subject research, providing guidance to investigators on generation and maintenance of studies. Conduct audits of potential research compliance violations and implements corrective action, as appropriate

Participate in the development and implementation of investigator-led studies within the department and oversee documentation efforts to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

Monitor and provide updates to Vice Chair, Research on annual department Research Snapshot goals. Oversee the development of methodologies and tools to track, forecast, and report on effectiveness, success rate, and other metrics used to assess the Research Mission.

With investigator-initiated studies, assure the protocol and consent form conform to sponsor, department, and NYU specifications. Monitor and facilitate study progress, ensure adherence to protocol. Update PI and Co-Investigators regarding problems.

Develop study procedures involving standard operation procedures. Keep abreast of regulatory updates and ensure departmental adherence to evolving research and regulatory guidelines.

Serve as liaison to Sponsored Projects Administration, Institutional Review Board (IRB), and other committees or departments that work with the Medical Center's research agenda (CTSI, CRSU, RFO, etc)

Maintain knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), clinical research activities, and guidelines related to consent, ethical conduct and protection of human subjects.

Oversee facilitation and coordination of monthly Quality Improvement (QI) Meeting

Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in related field. A minimum of 2 years of comparable experience and a working knowledge of research regulatory compliance is required. Knowledge of MS Office suites, database, spreadsheets, graphic and communications applications. Communication, analytical, presentation and time management skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Public Health, Health Administration or a relevant science is highly desirable. Experience in large, hierarchical institutions, excellent interpersonal and written/oral communications skills required along with tact and diplomacy. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $88,497.26 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
