S ummary

The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the agency’s strategic initiatives within the Office of the President, Corporate Performance. Construction & Development manages the MTA’s historic $55 billion program, with the mission of delivering critical transportation infrastructure projects better, faster, and cheaper. The Project Manager will pro duce research and analytical evidence to guide policy-making , advance and track progress of recommendations, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to implement strategic priorities.

On a day-to-day basis, the Project Manager will be responsible for gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative information, assessing current business practices, developing and presenting recommendations, and coordinating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure initiatives are on track. The Project Manager may support and manage a variety of initiatives at one time , ranging from capital cost containment to increasing contractor pool and diversity.

A successful candidate should be entrepreneurial, organized, demonstrate strong skills in analysis , problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder management, and possess a passion for advancing public transit in the New York region .

Responsibilities

Perform rigorous qualitative and quantitative analyses using a variety of tools and datasets , such as Excel modeling and PowerB I .

Produce data analytics, visualization tools, and spatial analysis clearly summarizing complex datasets for effective communication with agency leadership.

Prepare written reports, memos, and presentations directed to agency leadership.

Support project management of high-profile initiatives, including working with senior level staff as well as technical personnel on a diverse array of issues.

Lead and support cross-functional stakeholders in workshops and meetings to execute strategic initiatives .

Develop and maintain measurable key performance indicators.

Actively m onitor project status, including creative problem-solving and stakeholder coordination across functions and levels .

Demonstrate s trong time and task management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Must have a minimum of five (5) years related experience.

Must have focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

Must possess excellent team building, listening, problem solving, and prioritization skills.

Proficient computer skills (i.e., Windows environment, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.), and strong business administrative skills ( i.e. presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.).
