The mission of Xu Quantitative Lab is to engage students in a variety of projects and study multiple aspects of quantitative methodology, as well as learn crucial research skills, such as grant writing, literature reviews, and analysis strategies. We are hiring one Research Assistant in Fall 2024. This position may be extended to April 2025 based on performance.

Responsibilities of the Research Assistant position include:

  • Conduct literature searches and assist in producing manuscripts

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

  • Develop and implement databases, data management, data cleaning, and data analytics processes

  • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques

  • Provide ongoing reports based on data analysis results

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, global health, or a related field or equivalent professional experience

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Familiarity with general and generalized regression techniques and machine learning methods

  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (e.g., SAS, R)

  • Effective communication skills, both in speaking and writing
