Description

Robert Half is partnering with a leading non-profit organization dedicated to sustainability and disaster recovery. The company is looking to add a Senior Grants Accountant to join the finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grants accounting, experience with QuickBooks, familiarity with NYC grants, and expertise in budgeting. The Senior Grants Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our grants, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and providing financial insights to support our organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of grants accounting, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.

  • Maintain accurate records of grant-related transactions in QuickBooks.

  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for grants to assist in decision-making.

  • Monitor grant expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.

  • Collaborate with program managers to develop grant budgets and ensure alignment with grant objectives.

  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and budget narratives.

  • Stay updated on changes in grant regulations and accounting standards.

  • Liaise with external auditors and grantors during audits and grant reviews.

  • Provide training and support to staff members on grant-related financial procedures.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in grants accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Excel.

  • Knowledge of NYC grants and familiarity with government grant regulations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
