A well-established Nonprofit Organization is currently seeking a talented Staff Accountant to join its NYC team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working with a group of dedicated professionals. This position will be in office for training, and then remote.

Responsibilities of this role will include:

• Performing monthly account reconciliations

• Preparing financial statements

• Supporting general ledger maintenance

• Preparing journal entries and assisting with month end close

• Coordinating documentation for audits

• Handling monthly and quarterly reports

• Handling ad hoc projects as needed

  Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, and at least 1 year of experience. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. This position will go to an analytical thinker, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
