Job Summary:

The Securitized Products Group (SPG) provides a variety of structured products and tailor made financing and hedging solutions across all major asset classes to MUFG Wholesale clients and investors. SPG is a market leader in bank and asset backed commercial paper funded securitization facilities and is a leading arranger in the U.S. Securitized Products focuses on originating, structuring and either retaining for our portfolio or on the capital market side distributing and trading Asset Backed Securities (ABS) and Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) transactions.

The candidate will be a member of the Portfolio Management (PM) team within SPG, working closely with the SPG deal teams and other internal MUFG support groups to ensure operations, risks, performance and strategic initiatives are controlled, managed and communicated effectively. The PM team plays a key role in developing and refining the systems and processes as well as securing the infrastructure to drive sustainable growth. The candidate will be involved in issue resolution, transaction and portfolio management, and will be accountable for the creation and delivery of various control, financial, accounting, and reporting for SPG.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and managing internal control functions and process to support SPG compliance to transaction, regulatory and/or firm wide policy and procedures

  • Assessing the risk-weighted asset (RWA) for individual deals and the portfolio, supporting internal capital and regulatory capital reporting requirements.

  • Develop solutions to automate processes / revamp infrastructure in order to reduce inefficiencies and increase productivity and operational robustness.

  • SupportSPG management on strategic and platform priorities, ensuring timely delivery and quality execution on projects

  • Stay up to date with regulatory requirements and its impact on the business

  • Collaborate closely with SPG’s deal team and other MUFG support groups including Middle and Back Office, Legal, Compliance, Technology, Risk Management, and Finance to achieve business objectives

  • Support the wider SPG team members as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services with knowledge of capital market, banks, broker dealers, securitized transactions and loans

  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  (emphasis on Power Query and/or VBA backgrounds preferred)

  • Strong financial and quantitative abilities, with an affinity for data analysis (experience with data structures, systems, and large and complex datasets)

  • Rigorous attention to detail and ability to understand and analyze business processes, products, and initiatives to identify risks, improve processes, and provide strategic and tactical solutions

  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills including ability to prioritize across multiple deliverables concurrently and execute within deadlines

  • Strong communication and investigative skills are essentials

  • Structured approach to problem solving and able to maintain high quality output even under time pressure.

  • Energetic, motivated, self-starter with intellectual curiosity. Possess sound judgment, professionalism and discretion.  Takes ownership and accountability for work product.

  • Undergraduate or Master degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Statistic, Mathematics, or Risk Management.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $210K - $245K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
