Citigroup VP, Regulator Engagement Officer in New York, New York
The Global Regulatory Engagement Officer will be part of Citi’s Global Regulatory Engagement team and report to the Global Regulatory Engagement Lead for OCC and FDIC.
Citi’s Global Regulatory Engagement Team is responsible for the engagement strategy and execution, regulatory exam management and oversight, and regulatory strategy and policy across all of Citi’s regulators. This role provides a unique opportunity to see across Citi as part of the CBNA organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the OCC, and FDIC Global Regulatory Engagement Lead in coordinating and executing the overall relationship coverage strategy.
Assist in managing tasks and responsibilities associated with the planning, directing, coordination and support of day-to-day activities regarding key regulator interactions and initiatives that have been assigned to the Regulatory Engagement Leads.
Project manage key initiatives and routine deliverables across the Regulatory Engagement team by tracking progress of team deliverables and coordinating consistent horizontal responses where needed
Develop and maintain a disciplined, routine schedule for meetings with key regulators that are globally consistent
Assist with preparing regulatory engagement strategic plans and forward calendar
Work collaboratively with the Regulatory Engagement Team Leads to ensure thorough prep sessions and centrally maintained agendas, materials and talking points with clear roles for all key regulatory meetings
Assist in prep including briefs and talking points for CEO and Board member meetings with senior regulators
Ensure all regulatory meeting communications, follow-ups and commitments are centrally documented and acted upon, and maintain a disciplined follow up and tracking approach for any open items
Ensuring Regulatory Event Tracking (RET) system is updated for relevant meetings and exams
Provide a total portfolio view of key regulatory interaction and activity that occurs on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis, managing who’s involved in regulatory interactions globally
Support preparation for supervisory college meetings
Support planning for and REL engagement on high priority / strategically important regulatory interactions (requests, inquiries, exams, OGS, etc.), including participating in calls/meetings and following up with stakeholders
Cover progress and developments of at-risk regulatory interactions (request, inquiries, exams, etc.) on watch list, including timely escalation to RELs for oversight as needed
Prepare management materials and presentations for RELs, including on supervisory themes and trends
Ability to interact with individuals across Citi at all levels, businesses and locations, providing a broad understanding of the organization while building relationships throughout Citi
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
6+ years of relevant work experience in financial services preferred.
Understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions
Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented, organized
Pro-active problem-solver who works well in high-pressure fast-paced environments.
High proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for reporting and PowerPoint for presentation development
Strong written/verbal communications skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging
Comfortable navigating complex, highly-matrixed organizations
Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels within the organization including senior management, including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/requests
