Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Decarbonization Lead to spearhead our efforts in reducing carbon emissions across GE Grid Solutions sites and projects.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability, possess expertise in energy management, and demonstrate a track record of successfully driving scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction initiatives. He/she will be part of the GE Grid Solutions Sustainability team and play an integral role to reach carbon neutrality targets.

This role also envisages supporting and/ or leading additional projects to meet delivery of GE Grid Solutions sustainability objectives

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Decarbonisation Strategy: Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive decarbonisation strategy focused on reducing scope 1 and 2 emissions across GE Grid Solutions sites and projects.

  • Energy Management: Utilize expertise in energy management to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements, renewable energy integration, and optimization of energy consumption within manufacturing processes.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and sustainability to integrate decarbonisation initiatives into overall business operations seamlessly.

  • Emissions Monitoring and Reporting: Implement robust systems for monitoring, measuring, and reporting emissions data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal sustainability targets.

  • Technology Evaluation and Implementation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in decarbonisation and energy management, evaluate their applicability to our manufacturing operations, and lead the implementation of relevant solutions.

  • Performance Tracking and Optimization: Continuously track the performance of decarbonisation initiatives, analyze key metrics, and identify areas for improvement to optimize impact and achieve long-term sustainability objectives.

  • Employee Training and Awareness: Develop training programs and communication materials to increase employee awareness and engagement in decarbonisation efforts, fostering a culture of sustainability throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven experience in a similar role with a focus on decarbonisation and energy management within manufacturing environments.

  • Deep understanding of scope 1 and 2 emissions sources and mitigation strategies.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others towards sustainability goals.

  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and certifications related to emissions reporting and sustainability (e.g., ISO 14001, GHG Protocol).

  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive environmental impact through innovative solutions.

  • The role can be remote.
