Reliability and Lifecycle Engineer Co-Op (Spring 2025) Location(s): Granville, OH, US, 43023-1200 Function: Administrative Audience: College - Internships / Co-Ops Work Arrangement: On Site Requisition ID: 63385 Reliability and Lifecycle Engineer Effective Date: 2/3 - 4/28/2024 (dates negotiable) Description: Seeking a 12 week co-op Reliability Engineer to join our team, focusing on the advancement of equipment reliability with digital simulation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive lifecycle testing, including both Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) and Accelerated Life Testing (ALT), to ensure equipment meets target mission times. Willing to learn and run Monte Carlo simulations with Weibull analysis in Isograph software. The role involves regular updates to Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documentation, reflecting the latest insights and data. A key part of the job will be extracting historical failure data from several CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and integrating tribal knowledge from our experienced plant maintenance team to inform testing protocols and improve equipment reliability. The successful applicant will have some background in reliability engineering, exceptional analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. REPORTS TO:Sr Reliability and Lifecycle Engineer LOCATION: Granville, OH Granville, OH is home to the Owens Corning Science & Technology Center. Responsibilities: Lifecycle Analysis and Testing Learn and create DOE in JMP software focusing on ALT and HALT. Assist with creating ALT and HALT tests for critical equipment. Assist with building test structures and performing trials. Learn Isograph software RCMCost for Lifecycle Cost analysis. Learn Isograph software module AvSim for Reliability Block Diagraming. Data Gathering and Reporting Use CMMS to gather historical downtime data for critical equipment. Work with plant maintenance team to gather tribal knowledge for data not found in CMMS. Update FMEA as needed with data from simulation and from CMMS. Investigate lead times for different spare parts for the system. Investigate costs of spares and estimate duration time for replacing parts. Generate reports for: critical spares, long-led time items, availability %, reliability % and comprehensive lifecycle costs including required operator and maintenance technician hours. Live Safely At ALL times, alert teammates of potential safety risks and stop unsafe behavior. Actively engage in driving a safety culture. Job Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Junior or Senior Reliability Engineering student. Experience in a manufacturing and laboratory environment. Mechanical, hands-on aptitude. Supervised travel up to 25%. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience with Monte Carlo simulation software. Experience with DOE. Experience with JMP or Minitab software for HALT and ALT data analysis.
