Job Title: Electrical Systems Technician

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, overhaul, and operational testing of electrical systems aboard the ship. This role supports a major Refueling Complex Overhaul program, requiring hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repair of shipboard ventilation systems including cooling coils, preheaters, and ventilation ducting. The ideal candidate will also engage in mentoring, training, and teaching coworkers and customers.

Hard Skills

  • Experience with naval ventilation systems

  • Ability to read drawings (Chill water, Ventilation)

  • Knowledge of Mechanical Technical Work Documents

  • Overhaul/Repair/Removal/Installation skills

  • Flange/Fitting Inspections

  • Hydrostatic Testing

  • Corrosion Assessment

  • Repair/Replacement of Constant Flow Regulator, Solenoid, Temperature Regulating Valve & Isolation Valve

  • Hands-on experience with US Navy 3-M processes and documentation (NSTM 300, Navy Tag-out User Manual, 3-M manual)

  • Experience with shipyard, prints, pumps, motors, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance

Soft Skills

  • Mentoring and training abilities

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Work Environment

The role involves working on-site at the shipyard, engaging directly with complex ship systems.
