Bright Horizons Workday - Senior Manager, HRIS in Newton, Massachusetts

Share a vision and passion for systems and processes to transform the way HR services are delivered to the organization. Help lead the implementation, operation and upgrade of people systems, processes and reporting to ensure we are maximizing our use of technology (Workday, Workforce.).

Lead in the planning, design, and delivery of discrete projects within the HRIS group; i.e. leading resources from other groups within Bright Horizons and outside consultants. In addition to team leadership, the position spends time focused on the development of business requirements, configuration and testing and ensuring complex system issues are resolved timely.

What will you be doing:

  • Develop and build on an understanding of Bright Horizons businesses, population and culture to drive HR Systems solutions, reporting/analytics and end user experiences for areas of responsibility.

  • Lead and manage day to day operations of the HR information systems team for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Establish departmental and interdepartmental procedures to improve operational efficiencies, leverage technology and provide improved customer service.

  • Assigns tasks based on overall project roadmap, business as usual tasks, system upgrade timing and production support versus the team members level of knowledge and expertise.

  • Optimize HRIS systems to meet workforce requirements crafting opportunities for automation, reduction of manual processes, and simple processes that help drive accuracy and completeness.

  • Perform regular business process reviews, review enhancement lists, make ongoing suggestions and create plan to put into action.

  • Lead projects based on business and HR strategies by developing requirements, building/testing, and preparing a plan for change management and go live.

  • Lead the projects and teams: obtain key stakeholder agreement, develop requirements, build/test, prepare plan for change management, go live, and conduct post-mortem feedback enhancements.

  • Ensure consistent best practices are adhered to and that all projects and tasks are delivered on time and without issue.

  • Partners with vendors to fully scope and estimate initiatives and ensure that initiatives meet cost, scope and timeline objectives and constraints.

  • Assure systems, processes and resources support Bright Horizons internal and external audit needs (SOX, Corporate Audits, and external audits)

  • Resolves complex issues and knows when to escalate issues or concerns to management for guidance and support.

  • Understand when outside resources (i.e. Legal, Privacy, etc.) are required to provide input or approval for changes being requested.

  • Consistently acknowledge and appreciate each team member's contributions.

  • Monitor team performance and take steps to mitigate issues and drive optimal team performance.

  • May perform other duties/responsibilities as needed or assigned.

What we hope you will bring to the role:

Job Requirements – Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree - Required

8 years experience and knowledge in the HRIS field including background/education in both technology and human resources - Required

Additional Job Requirements

  • 4+ years of leadership experience leading teams of 2 or more staff.

  • Experience working with various HR systems (i.e. Workday HCM and Payroll, Time and Attendance, Cornerstone on Demand).

  • Broad knowledge/experience with multiple SaaS HR technology platforms and tools.

  • Demonstrate the ability to architect and present solutions across the HR Technology Portfolio with options to business and HR stakeholders.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize and present findings or challenges to all levels of staff and management.

  • Proven leader with ability to engage and motivate direct and indirect reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to network and influence across organizational boundaries.

  • Demonstrated skill managing multiple priorities.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage many competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
