Saint-Gobain Ceramics Division regroups Saint-Gobain’s businesses specialized in ceramic-based solutions for industrial clients. Our product range spans from advanced ceramic grains and powders, to specialty refractories and ceramic systems. In this HR Coordinator role, the candidate will be responsible for providing support to the day-to-day HR functions, serving as a resource to both employees and management. As a member of the Saint-Gobain HR team in Western New York, the individual will work as an HR Coordinator within our three (3) manufacturing sites in Wheatfield, Niagara Falls, and Amherst, NY employing over 200 employees. This position will be located primarily in our Wheatfield facility.
This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the HR team on day-to-day functions including: recruiting and selection, HR Compliance, onboarding, recordkeeping and filing, payroll, and employee relations support.
This is an opportunity for an intern to get exposure to various aspects that they have learned in the classroom with the real-life experiences of activities at Saint-Gobain Boron Nitride, which has a worldwide presence.
High School Diploma, or Equivalent required
Currently studying HR, Business, or related field in an undergraduate program preferred. Must be in good academic standing
HR or Recruitment experience a plus
Strong analytical skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently on tasks
Proven ability to provide concise, articulate and insightful analysis in written and verbal form, as well as translate into effective presentations
Strong interpersonal, organizational and prioritization skills required. Incumbent must possess a high energy level and positive outlook
Previous industrial experience or manufacturing knowledge is a plus.
The main functions of the role include:
Provide ongoing HR solutions support in administrative areas as assigned by the HR team
Maintain updates in HRIS
Responsible for providing support in all aspects of recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and personnel management for site employees
Conduct exit interviews, analyze data for trends and make recommendations for change as appropriate
Support associated with organizing training, as well as maintenance of training records per ISO 9001 and Saint-Gobain requirements
Recommend improvements and initiatives to HR practices relative to employee engagement
Ongoing organization and file management of employee personnel files
Support various HR projects
Other related duties as assigned
