DESCRIPTION OF WORK As part of this position, your main responsibility will be conducting x-ray and accelerator inspections in the Southeast Region to ensure compliance with radiological rules and regulations set by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. You will take on the role of team leader for inspections conducted at large hospitals and industrial facilities, where you will also discuss inspection findings and dose reduction studies with licensees and registrants. In addition, you will play a crucial role in emergency response activities, providing radiological expertise and assistance to protect public health and the environment. Furthermore, you will serve as a field team leader during nuclear power plant inspections and emergency exercises organized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for their radiological emergency response activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Occasional travel for training and meetings. Emergency response activities and drills. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Radiation Health Physicist 1; or One year of professional experience in the recognition, evaluation, and control of radiation hazards and possession of a certificate of registration issued by the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists; or Certification as a health physicist by the American Board of Health Physics; or Two years of professional experience in the recognition, evaluation, and control of radiation hazards and a bachelor's degree in health physics, radiation physics, radiation biology, nuclear physics, or applied health physics; or Two years of professional experience in the recognition, evaluation, and control of radiation hazards and a bachelor's degree with major course work in the physical, biological, or radiological sciences or in nuclear engineering, that includes 20 credits in health physics or radiological sciences; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement: This position requires possession of an active non-commercial PA Class C driver's license or equivalent.
