Summary

About the Position:

The U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command, headquartered in North Chicago, IL, is a jointly staffed command, staffed by representatives of all branches of the Armed Forces. The command, through its 65 military processing locations (Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS)/Remote Processing Stations (RPS)), determines whether applicants are qualified for enlistment based on standards set by each of the services.

This position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Duties:

  • Manage the Command’s medical logistics programs and medical equipment maintenance.

  • Develop Command policies and procedures pertinent to various programs and/or equipment.

  • Advise the Command concerning acquisition, accountability and disposition of medical supplies and equipment.

  • Review plans and technical drawings for MEPS construction and renovations for the installation of medical equipment.

  • Serve as team leader for the Medical Logistics team.

Specialized Experience:

  • To qualify based on your experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Developing short-and long-range plans to sustain medical equipment programs; Implementing an equipment management or logistical management program; Conducting inspections and/or maintenance of medical equipment; Leading teams and/or organizations in aspects of equipment management or logistical management programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)

  • You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

  • Ability to lead or supervise

  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.

Time in Grade Requirement:

  • Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
