Job Description:

A company in North Hollywood is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant for the finance department. The candidate will primarily be responsible for ensuring accuracy of financial documents, facilitating timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial reports. You must be able to go onsite Mon-Fri. This is a temp to hire position.

Responsibilities:

Assistance in the preparation of monthly financial statements in compliance with official regulations and laws.

Perform general bookkeeping duties, including posting information to accounting software, and regularly reconciling accounts.

Pay invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling and preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorization of payment.

Regular maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts.

Preparation of diverse analytical financial reports.

Process accounts payable and receivable, depending on role.

Addition of new vendors to the system and maintenance of banking information.

Assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.

Protection of the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

3-4 years of demonstrable accounting experience.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Proficiency with computers and bookkeeping software, strong typing skills.

Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are essential.
