About The Role
As a pivotal member of our technology team at News Corp, you'll play a crucial role in providing support for various compute technologies that are the backbone of our innovative business solutions. We're seeking a Systems Engineer who is not just technically adept but also shares our passion for pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Key Operational Responsibilities
Infrastructure Optimization: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain systems that are finely tuned for operational excellence.
Technical Support: Be the go-to person for addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues, providing timely and effective technical support.
System Monitoring: Track the health and performance of our operational infrastructure and seek opportunities for improvements
Lifecycle Management: Identify opportunities and contribute to projects that modernize the infrastructure supporting our core systems across various on premise and cloud technologies.
Problem Solving: Dive into complex technical challenges and provide effective solutions, ensuring the seamless operation of our systems.
On call support as needed

Person Specification
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications or relevant industry certifications are desired.
Experience
Minimum 5 years experience in Technical/Server operations
Minimum 2 years experience in supporting cloud infrastructure and services
Required Skills and Knowledge
Demonstrated skills managing and deploying infrastructure and services across multiple cloud providers.
Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of server and data centre hardware, maintenance and installation.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft server and core services including DHCP, DNS, IIS and WSUS
Some experience in scripting languages including Powershell
Some knowledge of Infrastructure technologies including VMWare, storage technologies and backup services.
Knowledge of other technologies including linux, automation, service management and monitoring.
Understanding of PCI and SOX standards and audits
Strong documentation skills
